Kyle Clark
MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPIST
Kyle Clark is a Medical Massage Therapist whose work is rooted in both lived experience and deep technical training. After breaking his back at age 29 and struggling to find meaningful work, Kyle discovered massage therapy—and quickly realized he had found his calling.
He trained at Blue Heron Academy in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a school founded by Dr. Gregory T. Lawton, D.N., D.C., D.Ac., alongside John Roberto, a martial artist and Tai Chi master known for developing therapeutic movement systems for geriatric populations. Kyle excelled early, becoming a teacher’s aide after his first six months of training, an instructor upon program completion, and ultimately serving for five years as faculty.
Kyle later transferred to Blue Heron Academy’s South Bend, Indiana campus, where he became Campus Head and Director of Education. In that role, he not only trained future therapists but also led student recruitment, marketing, tours, and financial consultations—giving him a rare blend of hands-on clinical expertise and real-world professional leadership.
His clinical training includes extensive exposure to Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities, including acupressure, Gua Sha, and Tui Na, under the instruction of Raymond Wan, L.M.T., A.D.S., H.H.C., an acupuncturist who also provided Kyle with acupuncture and electro-acupuncture treatments. Kyle also holds an Associate’s degree in Allied Health from Grand Rapids Community College.
Kyle has maintained a private practice for over six years and works with a wide range of clients using a philosophy that prioritizes harmony with the body. Unlike approaches that push through pain, Kyle minimizes discomfort and allows the body to gradually accept treatment—working with the nervous system rather than against it.
His modalities include traditional liniments (Po Su Mon, Woodlock, Zheng Gu Shui), applied heat and cold therapy, mechanical massage tools for dense or highly muscular tissue, and paraffin hand and foot treatments. He operates with a portable Earthlite massage table and chair, allowing flexibility in care environments.
At the core of Kyle’s work is a simple intention: to improve quality of life. He finds deep fulfillment in seeing clients leave feeling better than when they arrived—and in educating them with practical knowledge they can use to stay healthier long-term. His career aligns with his spirituality through service, fairness, and peace of mind in knowing he supports himself by fulfilling the purpose he believes he was designed for in this lifetime.
